Samsung to collaborate with Indian Startups and Fund them to scale up

Samsung is a South Korean based multinational conglomerate. It comprises numerous affiliated businesses and most of them are united under Samsung group. Notable industrial affiliates include Samsung Electronics, Samsung heavy industries, Samsung engineering, Samsung C&T Corporation, Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Everland.

Now the company is entering into collaboration with tech startups working on Govt’s Digital India stack.
It will also provide them funds and help to scale up their business. This will make Samsung to accelerate its digital journey in the country.

Samsung’s Research and Development centers and business units in India will now work closely with startups to co-build solutions for a specific product that has potential and integrate with company’s ecosystem which can include domains such as wallet, health and fitness. It will identify and invite startups in India which are into technologies like UPI, Digilocker, Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), Open Credit Enablement Network (OCEN), Unified Health Interface (UHI) among others.

Samsung invites startups in India

To kick off this initiative, Samsung held a Startup Collab event at the iconic Samsung opera house in Bangalore. Around 25 startups across the country interacted with its leadership from Research and Development centers in Bangalore and Noida to explore its products and services, and match where and which startup it can collaborate with. The company’s engineers who are into Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Internet If Things (IoT), Big data, metaverse will provide technical mentorship and guidance in protecting property of these startups.

Managing Director at Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore, Dipesh Shah said that “Samsung is a consumer centric company and strives to develop meaningful innovations for consumers in India. The Government’s Digital India stack is revolutionary, and has the potential to transform the way many sectors work. We wish to collaborate with startups who have cutting-edge technologies in this space, which, when integrated with the Samsung ecosystem, can transform the lives of people.

The Samsung smartphone has already had successful partnership with startups in India. Samsung’s App store powered by Indus App Bazaar and Lock screen stories and few of them have seen success.
